Thousands of Alberta couples looking to start a family struggle with fertility issues and the high costs of treatments to deal with it.
Advocates say the procedures should be covered by Alberta Health and not doing so is morally wrong and could be in fact costing the system more money. The province disagrees sticking by its stance that fertility treatment is not medically necessary.
Is not funding the procedures discriminatory? And could covering fertility treatment actually save the health care system money?
