A keen observer of politics at all levels, Chaldeans is periodically called upon by Edmonton media to offer reflections on political developments.

He teaches in the area of international relations and Canadian public policy, with specialties in the sub-fields of international organizations and Canadian foreign policy.

Graham Thomson writes on political issues for The Edmonton Journal.

After graduating from the University of Waterloo in 1981 with an English degree, Graham was a reporter with CBC Radio for seven years, working in newsrooms across the country. In 1988, he became a reporter with CBC Television covering political events for seven years. In 1995, he made an unsual move for a broadcast reporter by jumping to print journalism.

As a reporter for The Edmonton Journal he has worked on assignments in various parts of the world including Russia, Mexico and Afghanistan. He won a national B'nai Brith award for human rights reporting in 1997. In 2001, he was co-winner of the National Newspaper Award for spot news reporting. He moved to Alberta in 1984, expecting to stay two years. He never left.

Over the last three decades, Jim MacDonald has covered politics in the three prairie provinces. He has been a reporter/editor with The Canadian Press since 1982, focusing primarily on provincial politics. He covered Premier Peter Lougheed's last campaign, Premier Don Getty's election, the last two elections for Premier Ralph Klein and in between, from 1987-1992, he covered one of the most exciting times in Saskatchewan politics, including the final term of Premier Grant Devine's government and the first year of Premier Roy Romanow's government. He then returned to the Alberta legislature where he’s been ever since.

A graduate of Queen's University, Pratt is a former managing editor of the Edmonton Journal and her work includes national and provincial television and radio commentary. Pratt is also co-author of the book, Running On Empty, Alberta After the Boom (that's the first boom).
